Update from Gem/Camden on the installation affecting the gas supply to boilers and hobs

Gem have started installing the new gas meters across the block. They have sent a letter to every property regarding making appointments in order to complete this. Here is a copy of the letter:

16 April 2021

Dear Resident,

The gas contractor GEM is finishing the connections to the gas flow meters for each of the 64 flats. This may take up to 30 days because we need residents to grant us access to their flats.

When GEM contact you to make an appointment, please reply to them as quickly as possible, so that the works are not delayed.

GEM will then strip out the old gas distribution pipework which should take 4 to 5 days, before they hand over the roof to Engie. Engie need to remove and cut up the old water tanks which should only take about 3 days. Then a full and final inspection of the roof covering condition and water tank housings can take place.

If you need to contact GEM they are located in the Kiln Place Tenants Hall or you can call Mervyn Williams on 07943865349.

Your project manager is Helen Barrett, but while she is temporarily away from work, I have supplied my contact details below. Please contact me if you need to talk with someone about this Camden Council project.

Your sincerely

James Wainwright
